I wasn't planning on commenting if this got published, but I decided to create an account to thank you guys for your supportive comments. I also wanted to add that I do know I'm better off, it's just difficult because we have a daughter together. Thankfully I have an amazing support system around me and I don't have to deal with this by myself

Op, I'm very glad you're trying to do something about your alcoholism. I hope you meet someone better than that asshole.
Hmmm... Is it time yet for your boyfriend to start recovery..? FYL.
**** him. You deserve so much more. Keep your sobriety and stay strong.
You deserve it because he doesn't deserve you
When I hear something like that, I am always wondering whether the guy is completely stupid (he does not see why it would be a problem for you to go to the bar) or he was just looking for a bullshit excuse to break up... Either way, you are better off without him.
As a man who doesn't drink, there are all sorts of fun things to do that don't involve bars! I hope you have a blast without your ex!
Your problem became his problem. So, he removed the problem.
Good riddance. You need people who'll support you. Not an asshole like him. Good luck in your sobriety. One day at a time.
