My boyfriend actually asked me not to shave. It is MUCH more comfortable than the razor burn and ingrown hair, but I still keep it trimmed. I don't see how this is a negative thing, just ask him if he'd prefer if you shave it. Doesn't seem like he's complaining to me, but that's just my take on it.
