The comments towards OP's boyfriend are pretty harsh. Considering OP's username he probably has Aspergers and meant well but didn't know any better. He probably didn't even know that what he said upset her until she told him. I have similar problems, sometimes I'll say or do something that annoys or offends someone because I don't know any different.
