Today, my boyfriend of 2 years took me to get a tattoo done with his name on. He paid for it. After it was done he told me it was over between us and he thought it'd be a nice reminder of him for me. FML

Today, I got a tattoo with my boyfriend's name on it. As we're coworkers, I showed it to him thinking he’d love it. He told me he couldn’t continue the relationship anymore since he realized he wants to fix things with his wife. Three hours of pain and 2 years down the drain. FML

Woow..but yeah kind of YDI for getting a tattoo, because with marriages at a 50/50 rate, you've got to think of what ANY relationship's chance of making it to that stage is.

@93, yeah thats right, Never get a tattoo because 'most' people grow to hate theirs and they look horrible always and they always get infected... always. Good generalisation skills there /sigh But the guy doing that is a huge douche. I cant believe he actually did it for the reason stated, i expect he and his friends are chuckling about it right now. My advice to the Op, would be, besides having him pay for the removal. go back to the tattoo parlour, get a line put through the name, and keep it as a reminder to never be so foolish as to get someones name tattooed again. EVER.
