Today, my boyfriend's friends were throwing him a surprise birthday party. I thought it'd be funny to get him some fuzzy handcuffs and a box of condoms as a gift. They never told me they invited his parents. FML

Today, it was my boyfriend's 24th birthday. His friends were throwing him a surprise party and I was in charge of getting his birthday cake. As a joke, I got it in the shape of a penis, with a graphic marzipan design. Funny, I never knew his overly-conservative parents were invited. FML

To 16: If the party is thrown by friends and the people are 16+, there's a very good chance parents are not going to be there. At least in my experience. And if parents and family are going to be there, it's usually specified because that means it's going to be a nicer sort of event. But this happened to my friends. We were going to my friend's 18th birthday party and got her gag gifts like a penis shaped sucker and a condom bouqet. Turns out her grandparents had flown in and aunts and uncles were there. We just subtly slid the bag under the table after realizing this though and told we'd give it to her later.
