Today, my boyfriend's friends were throwing him a surprise birthday party. I thought it'd be funny to get him some fuzzy handcuffs and a box of condoms as a gift. They never told me they invited his parents. FML

Today, it was my boyfriend's 24th birthday. His friends were throwing him a surprise party and I was in charge of getting his birthday cake. As a joke, I got it in the shape of a penis, with a graphic marzipan design. Funny, I never knew his overly-conservative parents were invited. FML

Today, I planned a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend. I invited all his friend and made all his favorite food. He was running very late, so I called to ask what was taking so long. His response? He said he was at his house, with the very friends I was standing next to. FML

To #21, real handcuffs chafe and hurt. So... if you like your wrists raw and bleeding, go for it. OP, YDI. I mean... did you ever stop to think that maybe he'd be embarrassed by those gifts, no matter who saw them? And if his parents ended up thinking you're a little slutty, well... they're kinda right.

People: old enough to be given fuzzy handcuffs = old enough to have a birthday party that doesn't involve your parents. That being said, I don't understand why OP didn't just hide the gift after realising the parents were there?

#22 - I am well aware of what real handcuffs do. I'd rather have my boyfriend wearing those than the lame fuzzy ones. Sorry, but bondage lite just annoys me to no end.
