Unless he keeps regularly bringing things like that up, I'd assume it was a slightly botched offhand joke rather than a serious comment. May even be a reference to the show.
Probably just too young to have learned that a comment like that comes off as creepy rather than simply showing you like someone a lot.
I have had multiple boyfriends say something similar in high school. It's just him wanting to show her he cares. It's not intended to be creepy.

I don't get why people are calling the guy clingy and telling her to run? Sure, two weeks in might not be the ideal time to say something like that but I know that some people date with the idea of commitment. Personally, I don't see the point of dating "just for fun". It's just weird. Why not go in with the intentional of commitment if you like the person and ONLY IF they show reason to "back away" THEN take the necessary steps.
