Today, my boyfriend shared with me his anxiety about death, so I shared with him one of my ridiculously irrational fears. He thought I was making fun of him and now won't talk to me. FML

I know someone who is petrified of buttons! And 3 who are massively scared of birds - the one won't even go near feather pillows etc. I'm scared of not being a mom one day

Fear of death isn't irrational to everyone. For some, it's very rational.

To be fair, everyone IS going to die and being scared of that fact isn't insane. So if you told him you're afraid of celery or something, it makes sense he would think you were poking fun.

Well if you said, "I have a ridiculously irrational fear too, it's [insert here]" then you are calling his fear ridiculous, which is in a way making fun of him.
