Today, in addition to having to deal with chronic pain that keeps me from driving for more than 10 minutes, I now have to deal with my brother who thinks I'm not paying him enough for taking me to school 2 days a week, when he does the journeys for himself anyway. FML

Today, as usual, I work nights and sleep during the day. I found out that my brother uses my car and never puts gas in it when he called me for the first time to actually ask me if he could borrow my car, and also to lend him $20 to put gas in it. FML

Today, I had to take a taxi to work, because I was pressed for time, and didn't have a ride there. When I got to work, I paid the cab driver, and realized I had spent more money on the cab than I was going to make at work. FML

Hey if he wants to pay taxes on the gas money you give him, that's his problem, right? But if he's being a dick about it, next time he calls looking for a favour from you, tell him you're now a consultant and you charge by the hour, or part thereof, and insist on upfront payment. In his defence though, if that's his way of earning a living, and you ask for a ride in his chosen working hours, then he probably feels you're costing him paid work if he doesn't charge you.

You would most likely be taking him away from a paying job to drive you around, so I don't see what's wrong with paying him, especially if it's something he does for you all the time, maybe not full Über price since you're family, but at least gas money...
