Today, my coworker called in to say that he couldn't make it to work today because he was in a coma and asked if I could cover his shift. This isn't the first time he's tried to use this excuse. FML

Surely your manager or whoever isn't dumb enough to fall for someone saying they're in a coma? Like if they're the ones calling in I mean?

Seems like your coworker is a special kind of stupid.

you should tell your co-worker "i don't think coma means what you think it means."

This reminds me of that old joke. A kid calls up his teacher and says in a put-on voice, "I'm afraid Jimmy can't make it in to school today - he's got a bad cold." The teacher says, "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Who's calling?", and the kid replies, "My dad." But seriously, if I were you, I'd be like, "Dude, do you actually know what a coma is...!?" Don't let him get away with an excuse that is so obviously false, especially if he keeps trying to use it in order to get out of work!

Reminds me of the joke were the math teacher tells his students that the test the next day cannot be made up. A student then asks "What if I am unable to because I am sore from vigorous sexual activity ". The teacher then replied "Write the test with your other hand then."

and he was able to make a call and talk to you in coma......thats a miracle..

Tell him that you're dead for the day.....

Ah yes, the old "Spending a year dead for tax reasons." Excuse.

This isn't your average everyday stupid This is.... Advanced Stupid.

You can't speak in a coma..... How dumb is he!?

Multiple times he used the same excuse... that must mean one of two things. It's true... or insanity.

if you put the coworker on the scale of stupidity, he would probably break it

Instead of saying a coma he probably should have said he was on his period and forgot tampons -_-
