Credit cards are supposed to give you freedom. Oh, the irony.
Because you are the bank's debtor. So whatever you buy using your credit card is suspicious.
GG, I thought by flat iron the OP meant a tire iron. Then I agreed a tire iron would be very suspicious.Three seconds later I realized my mistake. WOWWWWWW... *facepalm*
And why did you tell us this fascinating story? This seemed appropriate for grand children....
I wonder what the hell they're thinking Bank: "Oh my god this person bought a flat iron I think they're going to try to smash someone's head in with it"
Wow you missed the point of suspicious. And if not, your sarcasm is terrible.
Depends on how you entered the credit card number. If you don't enter the csc, or type in the name/address exactly like how it is on the card, it'll be marked as suspicious. Usually they tell you to call the bank and then from there they ask you if you made the charge or not. It's a simple 5 minutes phone call that is usually automated. So I'm not so sure if I feel bad for the TC because it's not something that is hard to resolve.
-.^ again, I say WTF??????? OPs bank is a loser (wait that doesn't make sense...)
It isn't that expensive to be honest, I bought one for over 200. Yeah, I had to save up for it, but I'd rather I bought a good one that works than a cheap one I'd have to return/burn my hair out.
When this happened to me after buying a computer online the guy I had to deal with on the phone about lifting the block on my card was extremely apologetic. Instead of being a dick I pretty much told him I'd rather spend an hour having to unlock my card than weeks trying to fix the issue of someone having stolen my identity. Point is, you made a purchase that your bank/cc company thought was unusual for you and they tried to protect you. It's not that hard to reverse of a process and it shows you're probably in good hands.

Hopefully, the problem got ironed out.
