I don't want to play the devil's advocate here, but in a way they might have been the only ones in the whole event to see them as persons, I mean considering someone attractive, or even making fun of them is like accepting this person as "average". While if you keep thinking that you have to act toward them in a different manner, and show some special consideration and everything, you're only singling them out a bit more.

I have had Asperger's Disorder since I was three years old and am high-functioning autistic. I hope your father and grandfather get served the highest level of karma by someone who's also autistic just to teach them that we're a lot smarter than we appear, and I hope you said something to them about their blatant disrespect.
