Is it still technically your house, and they're staying with you? Because you can give them a subtle reminder that if they're so embarrassed by your home, they can move out; maybe the street will be more appealing to your father's cousins.

Just buy yourself a new kitchen table already. A plastic folding table sucks & you know it. However, don't let your Dad have any say in what you buy. It's still your house. So many people are bashing OP about the cost of the renovation. Depending on the work being done, materials, and cost of labor... that's actually modest. Not to mention, it's possible that a few nasty surprises popped up. Just about every house has them and believe me, the cost to fix them is rarely cheap and adds up FAST. (Those of you who've experienced the same or who watch home renovation TV shows know just what I'm talking about! Some issues, once discovered, legally HAVE to be addressed by the contractor and homeowners.) Hopefully everything went smoothly, OP!
