Today, my dad said that if I walked home from school, a distance of 8 miles, he would give me $50. Two hours and four massive blisters later, I come home. When I asked for my money, he said "I was kidding." FML

people saying about the blisters, it could be the shoes op was wearing.....

- It might not have been that the OP wasn't wearing socks, it could just be that they were wearing shoes that weren't up for an eight mile hike. If shoes are extremely worn out, or just not made for walking, they will cause blisters. I know I own a couple of pairs of shoes that are good for short term, limited movement wear but are awful for long term walking. - @KMilliron "Walked four miles up hill in rocks barefoot just to see if I could once." That's a kind of insanity I can't understand. Then again I've seen feet that have been sliced open by sharp rocks, and broken glass that was invisible until it embedded itself in my friends foot. That is all beside the point. What I wanted to ask is why is that fact that your willing/able to do something like that being used as proof the OP should suck it up? You are two different people and your bodies may not be able to handle the same things. - Eight miles really isn't that great of a distance but we also aren't getting the whole story. Are we talking eight miles of flat sidewalk? Eight miles of rocky dirt road? Eight miles of hill and grass? or eight miles down the side of a busy road making sure that you don't get smashed into by some blind driver? These details are important because they give a better idea of what exactly the OP was dealing with.
