That's awkward, but chances are it won't matter too much in the long run, so just act maturely and I'm sure it'll all be fine. (Unless you're still seeing him, but based on the way you worded it, I doubt it.)

We don't know how old the OP is or how long ago this happened. If it was a long time ago she might need a second glance to recognise him. Also, the OP doesn't say how long it took her to recognise him.
