Today, my daughter and her boyfriend excitedly told me that after months of trying they are finally pregnant and that I'm going to be a grandmother. This would be great news if they weren't 15. FML

Let them keep it. Your daughter will quickly learn how hard it is to be a Mother. That's the biggest punishment and lesson you can give her.

They just want to make your dreams come true!

I reckon bullshit shows like 16 and pregnant don't help. "If you're pregnant this young, we'll put you on tv"? Come on. Improper parenting doesn't help either. I feel for you OP, but something must have gone seriously wrong with the message (if any) you sent your daughter about pregnancy.

They were actually trying? If they actually wanted to be parents you'd think they'd have read up on it and all and so would know that it's ******* STUPID to have a kid if you don't already have a house, job, etc. Just how exactly were they expecting to pay for it? Does their weekly allowance really cover that?

Oh god, I am 15 and I don't even know if I want to get married even less get a kid...

To be honest, it completely sounds like it's your fault. Do a better job raising your kids and that wouldn't have happened. How about you step up to being a parent and do the right thing now and make her have an abortion? That way at least she has a chance to have a life before it is over. What kind of a mother do you expect a badly-raised, 15 year old is going to be?

Probably not a judgmental psycho like you!

There is another option here. How about the parent steps up and helps her daughter raise the baby? No abortion needed and daughter learns how hard it is to raise a child. Everyone wins.

Just think, if they play their cards right, they can be grandparents at 30 or 31. You might still be young enough to pioneer the concept of the GGILF.

uhm i had a baby at 16 in high school and i have just fine grades.

Lol... My thoughts exactly. Along with "....and an obviously impeccable sense of grammar".

That's insensitive and it's up to the daughter if she wants an abortion(its obvious she doesn't); I don't want to start a debate but to me , it should be the pregnant woman's decision whether or not to have an abortion.

I blame the media. They probably were trying to get on to that tv show "16 and Pregnant". But I am sorry for your situation OP. Bet you wished you raised your daughter better. What ever happened to NO sex before marriage people???

I agree ^^ you shouldn't be able to just say "oh hold on honey, you're getting an abortion" to your daughter..even if she is that young. If my daughter got pregnant that young, I wouldn't kick her out of my house, I'd just say if she can pay for most of the stuff (I'd help out with some because it would be selfish) and if she can raise it properly, then sure.
