This shouldn't be an FML. Firstly, she must be old enough to decide for herself since she is getting married. Secondly, age isn't that big of a deal. Maybe when your 13 year old is dating a 30 year old. But when two consenting adults decide to get married because they are in love, regardless of age, you have to learn that you can't do **** all about it.

I understand how this can be upsetting for you, but #96 is right, it ultimately isn't up to you. You should be happy for them if your daughter is really serious about this guy. While I'd like to say this isn't the weirdest thing I've ever heard, it's not. I can understand the girl's choice. My grandfather and my step-grandmother were 45 years apart. They met when she was 17 and got married when she was 24. I use this gigantic age difference as proof that age is irrelevant. I also use it to argue with anyone who thinks someone is too old or too young for them or me. If my grandparents can have a 45 year age difference, so can I if I want to. Your life is, in my mind, neither ****** nor do you necessarily "deserve" it. But you do deserve for your daughter to be happy, which it appears she is. So be happy with her, and enjoy life :)

my ex fiance was 27 years older than me(3 months younger than my mom...that was fun) and i'd always had a thing for older guys. i slept with guys who were at least 15 years older just cause they knew what they were doin. on the teacher front i do recall a few incidents that would definitely be considered wildly inappropriate now but eh. no harm no foul.
