Today, my daughter's obsession with Canada got out way of hand when she was suspended for climbing up the flagpole, in an attempt to replace the flag with a red-and-white maple leaf one. FML

OP here. I made an account so I could follow up. For those of you doubting my parenting: in my household, no banshee-like deed goes unpunished. Yes, this was a school suspension, for those unsure, and it was three weeks, which is pretty reasonable. Sadly, this is a continuation jr. high school for kids who've been permanently expelled (I'm surprised no one asked why she's still in school during the summer), where banshee-like behaviors such as this are not rare.

Yeah Canadians.....I worked as a server in the town where the Toronto Blue Jays have their spring training. I got stiffed so many times by Canadians ( seriously on 60.00 checks, 100.00 checks) that I honestly have absolutely no respect for Canadians. I give everyone 20% service but after dealing with that for 3 years I finally had had enough. Waste of my time and effort...thanks Canadians....you wonder why we all can't wait for you to leave Florida...so yes..your daughter needs to re-evaluate her stance on her love for Canada.

Kk I'm sorry but suspended???!! That's fkn stupid so what if she likes Canada, Canada is a great place to live and we certainly don't expel or suspend students just for liking another country. Shame on you

It is not that she likes another country, but that she attempted to replace the American flag with a different one. Since the kid was suspended, I assume she did not have the school's permission and that is why she is being punished, not because she is obsessed with another country.
