Today, my fiancée's OCD hit a new low when she screamed at me for flicking the light-switch off "the wrong way". This led to her flicking it on and off about a dozen times, followed by a twenty-minute lecture on how to do it "properly". We're getting married next month. FML

Make sure you request lots and lots of light bulbs on your wedding registry!

And you didn't think this would be a problem before?

What the **** is the "correct way"? Seriously!

The correct way to turn off a light is to push it with your right index finger, but only if you are right handed. If you happen to be left handed you should use your left index finger. If you are ambidextrous you must learn to use the force. I hope that helps you.

You must caress and love the switch when you turn it on. How would you like it if somebody turned you on and left?

Show it anyway

It would be pretty obvious it was him. What a douche bag move.

I doubt OP wants to worsen her condition, otherwise this wouldn't be an FML.

19- Please promise me you will never, ever become a therapist.

And if #19 ever does become a therapist, they would be like the Geico therapist that was an ex drill sergeant.

Yes, let's purposely mess with someone who has a mental disorder. Sounds like a grand old time! Just kidding, you're actually an asshole

You are obviously a bad person and a huge waste of life. Seriously.

You better learn how to do it properly, then! Unless you want to get lectured again in the future. Even if it is a bit crazy, it's probably easier to just do it and avoid problems. A happy wife is a happy life!

You have to think if this is something you can spend your life with. Marriage is a big deal, divorce is a hassle, and your marriage may be close but you could always back out if you can't take it. Plus, you could always try couples therapy or something. Best of luck!

Seriously?! **** her life. OCD is really hard and it ruins a lot of things. I know it's annoying but if you love her enough that you can marry her you should love her enough to stay by her side as she tries to overcome the disorder.

Her OCD is probably in overdrive due to the stress of the wedding. Wedding planning is bad enough, when your OCD the million details to decide would likely be overwhelming to someone with that disorder. She'll likely return to normal after the wedding...

I have OCD and I'm trying to plan my wedding; it is tough because everything HAS to be perfect and done in a certain order and a certain way. It's a nightmare, but on the plus side it's fun too.

She can't control her feelings/thoughts due to her disorder. She can control her actions. Having a mental disorder doesn't mean you're no longer ever responsible for your decisions.

Wow. And I thought the toilet paper debate was bad.

Well I'm guessing you never have to pick up around the house. Seriously though, get her to a therapist (possibly get her some meds) or run like hell.

Are you the type of person who thinks relationships should be perfect? ***SPOILER ALERT*** They're not.

There's "less than perfect," then there's being yelled at for using a light switch in a sub optimal manner.
