Today, my family staged an intervention and demanded I go to rehab. Why? My mom found 'drug papers' in my car. It was a receipt from a routine drug screening for my job. It was also over two years old. FML

Today, my friends staged an intervention. I'm not on drugs, I'm not an alcoholic, and I own my own house. My car is paid for and my job pays well. Apparently, I need an intervention because my life is not where they want it to be, which involves me being married with children. FML

Today, after six months of dating, my girlfriend decided to break up with me because my "obsession" of being on the computer and playing games all the time was cutting into "our time". She then told me to "get a life" and never wanted to see me again. She told me all of this on WoW. FML

Today, my parents staged a family intervention and gave me the grandest bollocking I've ever experienced in all my 22 years of life. They did this because my sister showed them a photo of me jokingly posing with three bottles of Bud Light at a party. Apparently, I'm an alcoholic in denial. FML

If your parents AND your girlfriend felt you needed an intervention, then you are spending far too much time gaming. It is an addiction just like drug abuse. Time to take their advice, get some help, and get a life. A real life, not an on-line life.

WoW is ok, but there are better things you could be doing with your spare time. grab your .22 and a box of ammo and go plink some soda cans, or go for a mile walk. rest your feet and legs for a bit then go for another mile walk. lift some weights. take up paintball or airsoft. or if you really like the genre period, join a live action medieval RPG group. if getting physical isn't your thing, read a book. buy a chemistry set and learn more about this world. watch the history or discovery channels, they almost always have something good on. i used to be addicted to computer games and kinda still am, but i am working on it. spending more time with real people is part of it. if you have to, have someone you trust disconnect the computer for a time, then after a month or so, if you find you really don't like real life, come back and have them plug you back in.
