I'm not saying you deserved it, but if your girlfriend who you dated for 8 years just dumped you, there must be some reason as to why she dumped you. my advice is go talk to her and try to make things right. You dated her for 8 years, surely that means she was a really special girl. Besides, you've got nothing left to lose, so go for it!

What about her boyfriend? I doubt I would go after someone (even after eight years together) if the reason she gave for dumping you was that she already HAS a boyfriend.

Like someone else said, she may not have been cheating the entire eight years. And as anotherr person stated, long distance relationship. The latter makes the most sense to me in this situation.

Something like that happened to someone I knew. After 3 years with a guy she found out she was the "other woman" and that her man had been with someone else for over 5. dumbass went back to the guy and we're no longer friends because of it. Some people are just desperate.
