Today, my girlfriend of over a year broke up with me. Two weeks ago she complained that I didn't act like I really loved her. I then became more involved and caring just for her to show my love. The reason she broke up with me? Because I was "suffocating her with clinginess." FML

Today, I dumped my girlfriend because she frequently wouldn't answer my texts or phone calls, and not call or message back for days. I felt that bringing it up made me a control freak. I couldn't take it anymore. FML

What a stupid unappreciative girl! MercyFML, it's not really mind games, because I've done the same. I wish my boyfriend of over a year as well could be more like the OP. I've told him that he doesn't really act like he loves me anymore, and he'll start showing it a little more but always only the minimum. OP, I wish he was as driven as you were. Forget your ex, you deserve better.
