Today, my girlfriend told me that she's scared because her period is late, and that they're usually on time. Five hours late apparently. FML

99% of the time I usually get mine first thing in the morning. Maybe she knows her body and feels different this time?

i wish i knew to the hour when i am getting my period. i have a time give or take 4 days on when i should get mine. And sometimes it start in the middle of the night or middle of the day.

Some luck women are that regular in their cycles. She knows her body better than you and if she feels different then there might be a reason to worry. Go to a dollar store and get a test (they work just as good as any other). Let her take. It will ease her mind or change both of your lives forever. Good luck and remember to wear a raincoat when you dance in the sprinkler even if the other person says they have taken care of protection.

I'm assuming that something happened, like a broken condom, that has caused her to be concerned about being late this month? Menstrual cycles are often affected by stress, and high stress levels can make one skip an entire menstrual cycle, as well as producing other feelings commonly associated with pregnancy. Wait for two weeks after the incident (assuming there is one) and get a good pregnancy test from a pharmacy (you both do NOT want the stress that would result from a false positive from using a cheap or expired test). If it is positive then still don't stress until the pregnancy is confirmed by a doctor (some stress hormones and some foods can produce a false positive).

I get scared when my period is late until I remember in a virgin. It's really not being "paranoid" especially if they have sex. And as someone said, emotions are out of whack around the time of periods.

I'm a virgin too and sometimes, if my period is late I find myself thinking 'what if I'm one of those rare people who get pregnant whilst a virgin because they somehow accidentally touched sperm or something?' Or I wonder if my body is doing a fake pregnancy thing where your body thinks you are pregnant because you want it so much. But rationally I know it isn't and I really don't want to be pregnant. :)
