Today, my girlfriend told me that she's scared because her period is late, and that they're usually on time. Five hours late apparently. FML

Dang I wish you could predict your period down to the exact hour...that would be super handy.

99% of the time I usually get mine first thing in the morning. Maybe she knows her body and feels different this time?

My wife doesn't even get her period every month. She has something called PCOS. It makes birth control easier for us since her chance of getting pregnant even without the pill is low. As for your girlfriend, every single female internal clock runs to a different beat. If she worries about this a lot, I'd recommend her seeing a doctor, a nurse, a pharmacist - or some kind of education on monthly cycles. This sounds like a recurring trend, unless you've only been dating her for one month.

Haha my friend does this to me every month.

I usually get my period early in the morning. If I wake up in the morning and I don't have my period, it is very likely it won't come that day. Maybe OP's girlfriend's cycle is like a Swiss clock, always on time, and if she didn't have it that morning, she assumed it would be at least a day late and she got worried, because it had never been late. She's a bit dramatic/paranoid, but I kinda understand her.

I usually get mine first thing in the morning. If I ****** up my birth control with only a few hours it usually ends up a few hours late and I always freak out. Don't be a dick about it. You never know when those few hours turn into nine months.

Ruuuuunn! Sounds like some crazy bs an attention-***** would make up.

Not necessarily. My period is very regular, it always comes on the morning of the last Sunday of my pack of BC pills. If it didn't come that morning, I wouldn't freak out, but it would be odd. Maybe OP's girlfriend usually has very regular periods and is also someone who easily gets very worried. That doesn't mean she's an "attention *****". All she did was share her worries with her boyfriend.

My girlfriend does the same thing sometimes. Usually over about 12 hrs or a day. But either way, the best thing to do sometimes is comfort her. I would say something like this is not worth telling her to get over it or something lol. But she'll be fine:)

It can arrive early or late. Most women don't have a clockwork menstrual cycle. It does always seem like it runs as late as possible during a pregnancy scare though.

I know exactly what time mine should show up. If I were 5 hours late, I'd be worried. I'm regular down to the hour. I knew I was pregnant with my first one by 11am because mine showed up at 7am every month.
