This is my family. For your kind, understanding people, thanks, but she doesn't have Alzheimer's, she's just crazy, and she really didn't remember my name, but she had it down pretty good when she found out I work in an antique store and could get 50% off, and I'm 19, a little late for birthdays, she's my dad's mom, doesn't like my mom, and I look like my mom. All of my siblings are tan and brown eyed, I'm pale ad green eyed. She never liked me much. It's okay though, ha-ha, it's pretty mutual. I'm glad she moved to the other side of the country when I was little.

i know how you feel. back at thanksgiving my uncle (dads brother) got super drunk and started yelling, swearing and starting shit with my mom, saying that it was her fault that my aunt committed suicide. he started getting in her face, and i went to defend my mom. he started swinging at me and i fought back. my grandma (their mom) said it was my mom's and i's fault. she hasn't really talked to us since. i got $5 for my 20th bday and a few more times $5 for a few other holidays. (while my sister got the most, and my brother got a little less than her, while i got nothing.) my family is afraid of my uncle and we don't talk/see him and rarely, very rarely see and talk to my grandma. but it's okay too, i don't like them. so i totally know where you're coming from.
