Today, my hatred for IKEA reignited when I rammed my knee into my hotel bathroom's plexiglass counter top while I was drying myself off. Their interior designer must have have been suffering brain damage when she matched everything with the floor tiles. FML

To the people that keep having a hissy fit about me hating IKEA — deal with it. It's a matter of personal taste and I happen to dislike not only the design of their pieces but also the quality of their furniture; which is rubbish. You like it? Fine, whatever. I couldn't care less. I don't like it and I'm not changing my mind just because you think I should like it. And, again, personally, to me, IKEA is overrated. With that in mind, please feel free to hate me, or my furniture preferences, as much as you like; I'll be here in my little country having a life.

Oh please, like you hurting your knee wasn't your own fault.

I don't understand what the floor tiles have to do with bashing your knee on a counter top. Am I missing something?

That the counter tiles were the same as the floor tiles.. She obviously thought the counter and the floor were one piece.. How she missed the height difference, only god knows.

It does get visually confusing, like blow drying hair or drying off, because your focus on the surfaces is only secondary. I'm an interior designer; a place like a hotel room is very personal (tasks being performed) and unfamiliar. OP's point has validity from a design standpoint.

no, i didn't confuse the countertop with the floor. who on earth does that? when i entered the bathroom it looked like the sink was one of those wall mounted ones. that's how "invisible" the damn countertop was.

and the counter had no tiles; it was plain plexiglass.

wha?? isnt that a car brand? guess im lost.... or maybe just not fashion oriented to ever understand this FML. oh well.... :(

This FML doesn't make any sense. It's the interior designer's fault you slipped?

Who said that the hotel decorator was a she?

What does that have to do with IKEA?

Just a thought, why does the person who designed it have to be a she?

That wasn't me. Apparently the site rephrases the submitions. I have no idea who decorated. Also the site seems to be the one who thinks "their interior designer must have been suffering brain damage". Never wrote that either.
