Today, my house was damaged by a tornado. I called my mother to see if I could stay with her for a few days. Her response? "I warned you not to move in with a man. This is God's way of punishing you." I've been married to said man for almost a year now. FML

Seriously, OP, who lives with their husband? You're such a degenerate. Tsk, tsk.

That's so horrible.. I hope you are able to find a new home soon. Your mother should be glad you are safe, not chastising you for something you're obviously committed to.

So why does everyone get support except for Christians? They aren't all nut cases, just makes me wonder what kind of people you commenters been around for you to hate them so much.. But back on topic, your house was hit by a tornado today and you're on FML? Doesn't seem too serious to me.

It's not so much Christians as it is people who use Christianity to be rude, mean, and in some cases, violent towards others. Those people ARE crazy but you can't exactly separate the good ones from the not so good. I feel like they get a bad rap too but there's no way around it.

If we're talking about Moore, then this is God's way of punishing you for living it a town that's been hit with at least five tornados in fifteen years. If we're not then YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID!

Well if a tornado happens to come by and flatten your mom's house, tell her you won't help her because it is heaven's way of punishing her for being a...not nice person. XD

This shit is serious. It was a pretty rough tornado that hit Oklahoma. I'm sure for every victim it was just a whirlwind of unfortunate events

I thought it was ONLY OK to live with a man under marriage? Sorry op.

OP, your username made me think of a funny username you could've used: "Hell-bound? No, just hotel-bound." Don't know if it'd all fit, but considering your mother's ridiculous reaction, it seems rather applicable. Also, I am very sorry for what happened to you. :(

Why are some people allowed to live?
