Today, my husband and I were talking about names for our expectant child. I told him since I named our daughter he could name our son. He's decided on a name from 'God of War'. My son is going to be named after a make-believe cartoon character - Kratos. FML

i dont get the "i name one kid, you name the other" mentality. why dont you just work together to find a name you both like?

"Make-believe cartoon character"?! Whoa whoa whoa, you've gone too far, there. Besides, it's a totally cool name, you must admit.

Kratos IS the Greek god of war there is no make believe

The name of the Greek god of war was ARES not Kratos. Kratos was a titan, and he was not really that much mentioned in the greek mythology. You should also know that in the new greek language kratos is the word for "state" and in the ancien greek language it means power authority and state

I think it would cool to be named that or any roman or greek go name for that instance.

But do you know how cool everyone would think your son is?

Out respect for the character, he's from a hack and slash action game, not a cartoon. However, I have a question. Are you Greek? Because its an awesome name, but more appropriate if you are Greek.

It can't be worse than my friend's plan for her first kid: Cancer. Like the disease, not the star sign.

In Greek mythology, Kratos or Cratus (Ancient Greek: Κράτος, English translation: "power") is the son of Pallas and Styx and the personification of strength and power.[1][2] Kratos and his siblings—Nike ("victory"), Bia ("force"), and Zelus ("zeal")—are the winged enforcers (sky tides) of the Olympian God Zeus. He makes an appearance in Aeschylus's Prometheus Bound, in which he is one of the trio that binds the titular Titan, the other two being Hephaestus and Bia.[3]
