Today, my husband announced that he was fed up with us being known as the neighborhood slobs, and prepared to take down all the Christmas decorations still up from last year. He then decided it was too much effort, and that he'd leave them up to give us a three month head-start. FML

Wow, with an attitude like that #14, you won't have to worry about bossing any husbands of your's around for quite a while. But don't worry, you'll have lots of Christmases to take down your own decorations, and perhaps to realize what it's like to become self-sufficient.

He might be lazy but you can take them down too. Don't blame him for your slob attitude too. It shows your really aren't concerned enough. Both of you are at fault.

Nobody likes putting lights up or taking them down. Its just a pain in the ass. I don't blame your husband.

Then don't put them up in the first place.. I actually like decorating.. So I wouldn't have left it up to my husband and had to hear him bitch about havin to do it the whole time.. I would have just done it myself.. God gave me two hands and a brain for a reason

I think you have just discovered the reason behind them being known as the local slobs. They won't even put enough effort into yard maintenance and house care to hire someone to do the dirty work for them.

Have him take them down one last time and from now on, only decorate with items that are easy to remove. I have a bunch of lawn items I put out. It's still cool to light up and no one has to risk breaking their necks to take them down.(: **Also chances are those lights won't all work/light during Christmas time anyway.
