Today, my idiot horse decided to grab a mouthful of stinging nettles while I was riding him. He panicked at the burning sensation in his mouth and bucked me off. Don't worry, though, my fall was cushioned, by the nettles. FML

That's why I always steer clear of extreme sports such as horse riding.

Ouch!! Charity my welsh/Quarter.horse decided to canter trough some mud and thorns. My neighbor was babysittin her for a week so all the mid dried.up with the thistles in her. It took me an hour to get one leg cleaned up.

Sit back. Your horse doesn't et leaves while trotting. You obviously knew what was going to happen

Sounds like bad riding to me, and the horse isn't stupid you ungrateful jerk! I own a horse and I would not be stupid enough to let him get away from me and eat a bunch of nettles, then call HIM dumb. learn how to ride right and stop complaining when you screw the hell up FYL

Wow... So many people against letting a horse eat. Guess yall are the English riders with sticks up your asses. See us Western riders are laid back and fun to ride with. We will give advice when asked, and sit back and watch you screw up until you do ask. Our bits are green, our horses like to work and you won't find better friends to help you hide a body. I've seen so many english horses who pitch a fit at what they have to do for work. Find a true western horse who doesn't like his job. You'll be looking awhile. The trails are FUN not WORK. Lighten up or give it up. Seriously. So sick of all these riders who think that they know it all just cause they can sit pretty. I'd pay some of y'all to try to stay on my horse for 5 minutes. No, he is not a hard horse to manage. In fact I've never been on a better animal. All leg pressure, voice commands, and body language. Turns into a bronc when a smartass gets on him. I just love seeing him drop the know it alls. No better feeling than seeing them dust off their broken pride after seeing a child handle him flawlessly. :)

So I definitely agree with the high tooting know it all, but your view on English riders is offensive. I ride English and western. I know plenty of riders from BOTH disciplines that are full of themselves. It's in every discipline and isn't more so in one over the other.

I've only ever ridden western, and I've been taught my whole life not to let my horse eat while riding, it takes control away from the rider when the horse is putting its head down to graze by lengthening the reins, so you constantly have to readjust, so if your horse has a panic attack while or just after eating you no longer have the control necessary to get through the situation.

Oh yea, your horse is definitely the idiot... if you let him eat while you ride that's on you.

Speaking from experience tea tree oil helps to stop the burning
