Today, my insomnia wins. I'm too wired and awake to sleep, but too stoned on my sleeping pills to get up and do something productive. FML

Just take some more sleeping pills. You'll start seeing shit and sooner or later knock yourself out! Problem solved.

And possibly die from an overdose of sleeping pills?

Insomnia is a real killer. OP, get rid of sleeping pills first, those are doing damage to your brain.

The best sleeping pattern is two rest periods broken by a few hour wakeful period. Before electricity humans slept at dusk until about midnight. Then theywould wake up and do things like visit neighbors for a few hours. Then sleep till dawn.

That is the natural sleep pattern for humans. Many doctors blame insomnia on the lumping of the rest period into one time.

i understand, it can just be very impractical for people these days

It is very impractical in todays society, and most people would rather use medication instead of changing their entire lifestyle.

That stuff doesn't work for people who have insomnia

physical activity helps. Doing something about the stress you may be experiencing also helps.

I can understand that . even I am insomniac

I made an account just to post this. You know the sleeping pills are probably half the cause in the first place right? 'Real' sleeping pills (benzodiazepines or similar) are really addictive and will easily cause a dependency. Pills are not the solution for sleeping problems, try to get off them, it will be hard but worth it. Good luck!

how about no? If a qualified physician prescription that dosage to OP then they shouldn't mess with how much it little they recieve, dependency or not it can mess you up big time via side effects, perhaps consult the doctor about methods to alleviate the dosage or how to stop dependency. also, it's a doctor's best interest and primary goal to aid the patient/client as best he/she can
