Also, your parents seem very inconsiderate. If they don't understand the value of you completing your work, I would assume that they favor her in other aspect, as well? Nonetheless, this is why I got in the habit of constantly saving my work with each added paragraph. Also why I like to plan my work, but regardless something like this can only be the fault of your family and how immature they all were being. How old are you? If you have your own laptop, I assume you are of high school or college age. If so, just wait a until you are older and won't have to worry about this type of unnecessary issue! I'm studying a degree in IT at 17. I get almost 6 assignments every week and the average amount we have to do per assignment is 30 pages size 10-12 font. I'd be pissed off as hell if I lost mine. OP are you allowed to set a password on your laptop? That way if this happens again, lock your computer while you sort out the issue and your work will be safe (just don't make the password easy)
