Today, my mobile phone wouldn't turn on. I took it in to the phone store, but they won't fix or replace it because the account is in my dad's name, not mine. He's abroad for the next month, and the only way to get a hold of him is on a number I only stored on my phone. FML

"the only way to get a hold of him is on a number I only stored on my phone" Reading works great too.

Buy a temporary cell phone for the month, they're pretty cheap and you can even use the Internet on some of them.

Letter-writing is a lost art. Why don't you go on a mission to rediscover it? It's not like you have anything else to do.

Ask the store what your dads number is?

That's actually kind of genius..shouldn't be any reason they couldn't give it to OP.

It's a privacy issue. Most companies are not allowed to share that information unless his Father had the foresight to add him as an "authorized decision maker."

Am I the only one thinking that ass? Oh

If you have another phone with a SIM slot you should be able to put your current SIM card in the old phone and pull from the contacts.

You is very smart. All is dumb compared to you.

Yeah I was wondering what the issue is- just borrow a phone!

Paper and pen my friend, these two can never be replaced

Many will argue with you, until something like the show jericho happens... or they drop their ipads in the toilet.

It's a little difficult to keep in touch that way if his father has no temporary address and an immediate response is required. I can tell you, shit takes ages to send by mail sometimes if it's overseas.

Buy your own phone! Oh no thats right, dady's paying for it! Whiner!

Um that's not necessarily true smarty pants. I have a friends and family add on line on my parents account which I MYSELF pay for. It could be the same with OP.

Or OP is a teenager and does not have a job and has no way to pay for their own phone

I thought OP's dad was paying for it. Oh No, that's right. You misspelled "daddy" in an attempt to look like a smart-ass by trying to make OP look like an ungrateful teenager! Dumb-arse...

I take it your mother would have the number...unless there is a divorce...again not mentioned...they should be able to get the number off via similar card...last four digits of the SSN will get it open also...SIM card in a friends phone might work too...but really cell phones can be a bitch at times...FYL

I had the same issue a few days ago. They finally agreed once I offered to give them the last 4 digits of my fathers social.
