Today, my mom asked if I was seeing anyone. I launched into a description of my girlfriend, only for her to interrupt, saying that she meant a therapist, and the fact that I'd just made up a relationship was further proof that I needed one. I really do have a girlfriend. FML

Sounds like you and your mother are not very close to each other or totally not speaking the same language. I'd go for a proof: Bring the girl home. If your mother starts to ask strange questions like "How much did you pay for her to come?" just reply by asking her to go see a therapist and leave. O.o

bringing her home is a good idea except his mom sounds a little off. And that may scare his girlfriend away. He should have them meet in a public place so that his mom would hopefully act right. sorry op your mom sounds as if she needs the therapist and it's probally better if your gf and her don't spend much time together
