Today, my mom thought it would be a good idea for me to talk with a British accent during my job interview to make me sound smarter. I'm applying for a job at McDonald's. FML

Did your mom suggest this while using a British accent to make her idiotic idea sound better?

U realize if u get the job you'll ether have to speak with a British accent at work or tell u don't really have an accent

Yeah, no kidding. That's exactly what I was thinking.

Well she does have an accent, just a Missourian one (however they talk).

You can use the accent to sound as smart as you want, but faking a British accent doesn't automatically give you a higher range of vocabulary or anything. Good luck with that...

ydi for thinking Brits are smart

Now, kids, this poster may seem like an intelligent, humorous individual, but upon closer inspection this is not the case. It was in fact OP's mom who thought it would make her sound smart, and not the OP themselves, resulting in an unnecessary YDI vote. Good effort, though. :)

Are you implying all British people are idiots?

you need to talk with a moon accent

Oh, what kind of British accent did she want you to use? A Scottish one perhaps, or a Welsh one? No, let's be more specific than that - maybe a Glaswegian accent?

Maybe Liverpudlian or something, that would've definately made them sound smart.

I'm surprised no one pointed this out earlier. Glad I scrolled down more before posting. But I think a cockney accent will help. If not, maybe a rich man will take her in and teach her how to speak "properly" =)

Yeah, don't use a scouse accent. Rather difficult for those who aren't scousers to understand. :P FERRRRRY ACROSS THE MERRRSEYY.

@42 i fail to see why the word properly needs to be in quotation marks?

123 - I fail to see how that sentence required a question mark.

It does i just missed out: a comma after see and i forgot to type does between why and the.

only scottish people understand scottish accent, that's why they want to be independent on thursday

THIS is why I'm going to enjoy moving from the UK to the USA!

LOL everyone will be like "how big is your mansion or are you a butler" and "where in london do you live"

#1 - I just fell in love with your picture <3

I wish that trick worked in England too. Once I was served by a woman in McDonalds who couldn't even speak English.

Whenever I go to McDonalds they people there almost never speak English, it is always Spanish.
