Today, my mom told me that Walmart had called and I had an interview at 9:30. I went to Walmart. They told me they didn't have any interviews set up. I went back home and listened to the voice-mail on her cellphone. It was the Subway in Walmart. I've been looking for a job for 3 months. FML

You should always double check those types of things instead of taking (even your mom's!) word for it!!

You gave them your mother's mobile number?

yeah I'm wondering the same thing. why would you give them your moms number? I would have gotten a cheap GO phone and used that number.

What if he couldn't even afford that...

Um, why did you give them your mother's cell number instead of yours? Even if you do not have a cell phone, you should not do that. You should have just given them your home number if that is the case. & the next time this happens, you should have just called your mom while you were there. She could have just listened to the voicemail and let you know what the message was exactly, rather than going all the way back and being way too late to go to your interview.

Yeong, not everyone has a cell phone. If he's looking for a job, chances are he does not want to pay for his own phone right now. As for using his home phone, many households don't have one anymore because cell phones are so common. And calling her from the walmart? Have you tried to use the phones in the walmart? I have. They just don't let you. I could freaking scream it's an emergency and it's just their policy not to let customers use their phones. Finally, payphones require change that not everyone has, if you can even find one these days. This is not his fault, just horrible luck and a mistake on the part of his mother. Hopefully he can call the subway back and explain.

Your mom can only hear what she wants to. Sorry!! It's the truth hon

Geez, just call Subway already and explain and ask if they can reschedule interview and you are still very interested in the job. Problem Solved. The worst they can say is no.

That's nothing. My mother intentionally didn't tell me about an interview I had until the next day. I had been looking for about five months by then! Some people can be cruel.

Then get a phone they cab reach you on or listen to the voicemail ahead of time? It's not your mommy's responsibility to make sure you go to the right interview..

YOU should've listened to the message yourself and not relied on your mother. That's how Subway would see it if you were to explain that to them anyway...
