Today, my mom told me that Walmart had called and I had an interview at 9:30. I went to Walmart. They told me they didn't have any interviews set up. I went back home and listened to the voice-mail on her cellphone. It was the Subway in Walmart. I've been looking for a job for 3 months. FML

You should always double check those types of things instead of taking (even your mom's!) word for it!!

You gave them your mother's mobile number?

In my experience companies don't normally schedule interviews with voicemails. I know when I'm recruiting I'll leave a message but ask that they call back to confirm the time and date. Try calling Subway back, apologize for the misunderstanding and see if they'll schedule a new one.

But.. OP must have known which job he applied for - if he applied for BOTH subway and walmart then I see the problem. He should still have checked in subway aswell - knowing that he applied for a job there

This was exactly what I thought of when I read the post.

Don't u know where u applied for job? Shame on u!

45- Sorry I accidentally thumbed you down. I hate when that happens.

If he's been searching for a few months he probably applied at both places. Most people don't apply just to one business when looking for a job.

Never give them your mothers number. Thats something my mother would do! You can't rely on anyone but yourself! Call subway and explain the situation and how your still very interested maybe they will understand! :/ good luck!

well get an education or a vocation ans get off you lazy ass and get a real job and you wont have that problem

67 - High school student, maybe? Think about that before you post jerkass comments.

Umm... Perhaps you live under a rock but in reality, jobs are hard to come by. Even with a higher education or training. I'm about ready o apply at freaking Walmart too :(

Why were they calling your mom? And what's the big deal? Turn around and go back to the subway.

Big deal is not all employers will be willing to hand him another interview. While his mom relayed the wrong info he probably got excited about the possible job opportunity and might have forgotten he applied at Subway as well.
