Today, my mom took my cell to work with her. When she got home later, she scolded me for not answering her calls. When I pointed out that she'd taken it, she grounded me for "talking back". FML

She should have admitted her mistake; anything else is just plain stupid. FYL.

I guess you should have your own phone that you pay for yourself. It sounds like your phone was something she pays for anyway. My son did that. Had his own since he was 14. (after the 2000.00 phone bill we got one month) :(

She may pay for it herself, and that wouldn't change anything. I've known parents to take phones / cars away, even if the kid paid for it themself. Are you saying that if your 14 year old son pays for his own phone you would never take it away for any reason? If not, you're a bad parent, if so, how does it sound like her mom is paying for it?

That sucks. My mom took my phone away because I wouldn't play singstar......the 70's version

I really hate the illogical people who expect everything to go their way...like their entitled to it rather than rationalizing what happened. Sorry you gotta deal with that mess.

One time, my dad asked my mom, "Is John in 12th grade?" and my mom replied, "How would I know?" He then asked me the same question, to which I also replied, "How would I know?" He then scolded me for being "disrespectful". When I pointed out that my mom said the exact same thing, he promptly grounded me for "talking back" Aren't parents great?

I just realized how grammatically similar my comment is to this FML hahaha

it would be funnier if your name wasn't john

Text her the letters, "FY!"

Sounds like my mom! FYL until you turn 18 and move out like I did.
