Today, my mom was feeling down, so I decided to buy her a gift. Knowing she likes lighthouses, I bought her a tiny one that plugs in and lights up. I brought it home, plugged it in, and when she saw me with it, she said, "Wipe that smirk off your face and get that junk out of here." FML

Normally when people are down they are grouchy and don't realize what they've missed until after they get in a better mood. You always hurt the ones you love most and she just took it out on you. Wait until she's in a better mood and give it to her and explain everything. Hopefully she'll see her mistake and apologize and like your gift. If not, then I'm sorry. Take it back and just keep your distance next time or just talk to her. Good luck OP and I'm sorry.
