Hurray for college!
savings bonds can be cashed in after two years, they earn interest for 30 and usually hit face value after 5-10. I work at a bank, we see stuff like this all the time.
I hope you cover up your hooker cleavage before you head to work.
boooorrrrrrriiiiinf. another fml fail. who moderates these posts?
this is so true... stop bitching OP, not everyone's mommy gave them free money for school!
wow, and people wonder why I say I feel bad for the US when todays kids start running it. Instead of being grateful you had a mother who was trying to help, you get all pissy because they will not mature until you are 30. Tell ya what OP, if you don't like those Savings bonds, send them to me, I will put them to good use for you, and unlike you, I will actually thank your mom for trying to help
us sucks big time when it comes to college. i love my country coz college is dirt cheap here :)
If your typing is an example of the level of education you get there, I think we're better off with our overpriced education.
MINE has caps.
No, you aren't. I'm going to college right now to be a court reporter. My tuition is 10k/year. My parents don't make enough to help me with that and I can't find a job that will work around my school schedule. I didn't qualify for financial aid. I got student loans and do all of the jobs thrown at me.. I'm making it work. I even have to commute almost 200 miles a day. a defeatist attitude wot get you anywhere.

You're not screwed. Just take out loans if you have to, and then when the bonds mature use them to pay off the loans. I mean, were those bonds REALLY enough to pay for your entire education? Depending on where you go, that could cost $40k or more.
Well... Maybe you could use those in the future to help pay off student loans? Or a community college is a great way to get your general ed. out of the way, and save money!
