Today, my research partner emails me 2 hours before our deadline saying that she can't complete her half of our 20 page report because when she woke up this morning she couldn't see. How did she write the email? FML

lol they really didnt think their excuse out :P

Why should he have to babysit her? She's old enough to do it herself without someone having to check up on her.

Hello, braille? She obviously magically went blind and then slept in late because she wad hung over from a party which you were to busy to go to and then rubbed a lamp to summen a genie in which she asked for a Braille keyboard. There ya go. Your questions answered.

there's no reason why she couldn't have written the email. my mother is blind, and she can use a computer perfectly well! she has software to help her but stilll, she COULD manage without... i think it is rational.

I believe that now's the part where you make a crooked deal with the professor...

**** her. Submit your half and her email with your astute observation noted at the bottom.

@brown_walls Most people don't know how to use screen-reader software let alone how to operate a computer blind. And given that she 'suddenly' woke up blind, I doubt she would have had the computer prepared for the sudden affliction. Finally, if you really wake up blind, notifying your research partner about your excuse isn't going to be your top priority. Besides, blind or not, a 20 page paper should have been completed prior to the day it is due. It was an excuse, and a transparent one at that.

I had this problem last year in college, it was a 3 peer group and we split the work betweek us three, she decided not to do her part of the work and so we did our part and waited for her to give in hers, since we regularly contacted her and she said everything was under control. A week before the deadline we asked her for it because we had to put it together and get ready for the presentation, she decided to miss college and 2 days before the deadline tells the head of the course that we took her for an idiot so she didn't do the work. So the guy talks to us about it and we both disagree and explain that she's making up excuses to not doing any work, he looked through her attendance which was poor as hell and she was never in class and they assumed she was lying just to get a grade in that unit, which was what she wanted to be honest. So the teacher graded us on our work, gave us 3 days to gather up the rest of the research and put it all together, in the end we both got a destinction and she got nothing. We don't talk anymore but that just makes you see what people are like nowadays. This year we are going to do grouped work again, guess what i'm doing, i'm doing most of the parts on my own because i can't be bothered to put up with people's lazyness.. you should do that too :P trust me it's the best way out.

I voted YDI, because you should have checked on your partners progress WAY before two hours to deadline.

I agree that that does suck but really if your partner was a flake you should have noticed this pryer to the email.

Test her alibi. Try to get her alone and either maul her or violently rape her. :))

FYL. I always get stuck with bad partners for group projects and even if you check up on them constantly they still won't do their work, and you get stuck doing most of the project.
