Today, my shrink diagnosed me as severely depressive, due to a lot of stress and yells at home. After the session, my parents argued about whose fault it was and then went on to yell at me for being depressive and wasting their money. FML

Also it's that the OP is from Thailand??

I was thinking the exact same thing! haha I'm with you!

Get over it. Stress and yelling at home? Hi, welcome to many households in the world. Deal with it till you are old enough to move out on your own. If you can't handle the stress of your parents fighting at home then you are screwed when you are actually working and supporting yourself. You did waste their money.

What an asshole you are. Severe depression is REALLY severe mental health issue, and people who are predisposed for it can have it set off by even the tiniest of things. What you just said is the equivalent of telling a person dying of cancer to "check out of the damn hospital, man up and go back to work." I'm not kidding. Depression is serious stuff. You don't **** with that shit or people end up killing themselves.

You really are bored at work, aren't yoi?

You really are bored at work, aren't you?

#22, I'd have to say that #24 is right. you can just say that to someone. the hint is in the severely depressed. Have some decency and don't be so cold-hearted. Btw, OP, don't listen to your parents, it's good you are getting some help and they should be supporting you not yelling at you.

Depression is literally a chemical imbalance in the brain, it's like an illness, it's not your fault if you get it. Bad situations can trigger it but sometimes everything seems to be fine and you could still get depressed. Idiots like you really get on my nerves cos telling someone to 'get over' their depression is just ignorant and can do a lot of harm, so do the world a favour and stfu.

You guys are a bunch of idiots. Why don't you actually get a clue before you speak up. I know what CLINICAL depression is. Did you actually read the FML? He wasn't diagnosed with clinical depression, he was diagnosed as depressed due to stress and family issues. Clinical depression can occur as easily in a healthy home environment as an unhealthy one and isn't triggered by petty things like stress. You guys go to a psychiatrist and tell them that you are sad and when they ask about your home environment tell him/her that your parents yell and scream all the time. I would bet 100% of the time they "diagnose" you with depression due to stress in the home. It's a BS diagnosis and a waste of his parents money. Please don't try to lecture me on clinical depression when you clearly don't know the difference between a depressed person and someone with depression.

would you tell a diabetic to just get over it? where the hell did you get your degree in a health relevent field? you don't just man up from a neurotransmitter imbalance.

who the he'll is going to read all those? 25/26 is right get back to work

#59 - It doesn't make a bit of difference in your life, so back the hell off. ANYONE who is depressed (clinically or otherwise) doesn't need a negative response from an asswipe such as yourself, because it will only make them feel worse.

your parents are fkn idoits

This is.. Just sad :| You can come and live with me, if it would make you feel better! Unless you mind a cat-crazy family, then it isn't the best offer you can get.. Run along now, run along..

FYL. That really blows, OP. I know the feeling -- my mom used to yell at me and blame me for my depression all the time. Maybe you should keep your parents out of your sessions for the time being and focus on feeling better first. Here's hoping you get well soon.

anyone that says ydi is a ******* douche, bro. this is a very serious issue, and depending on the OP's age he may not have many options to make the situation better for himself. hopefully your parents realize how damaging their actions can be before they end up driving you away. if possible you should consider moving in with a friend or close family member for a bit.
