It might be time to reevaluate your first impression and interview skills, OP. Companies will hire someone they like and trust even if they are "over qualified." My guess is you come off a certain way.
If you have a gender studies/woman studies degree, that may be why.
Yeah, but your sister becoming a prostitute or stripper doesn't really count as a full-time job... ;-)
Job searching can be very unfair.... I.e. Double D goes before Double Degree... (At the end fairness will prevail, so never give up)
Seriously... What fairy tale do you live in where life is fair?

I have found there's 2 types of people in the world. People who work smart, and others that work hard. You fall in the latter category, clearly your sister is in the other. Then there are people who look at that, and moan, and others who look at that, and emulate. Usually those smart enough to make the jump from the one to the other prospers way more than the "work smart" people because they bring the experience of "work hard" with them. Those are diamonds in the ruff. If you are tired of starting over, stop giving up. DO IT

Maybe you should have thought of this possibility before pursuing a degree in English. Kidding, English majors. Just kidding. Not really.
There's always becoming a professional FML poster.
