It's probably something he saw on YouTube. Next he'll be trying the cinnamon challenge and putting Mentos into Diet Coke. Huffing spray paint is just a gateway viral video. Be warned!

When I worked in retail, we sold paint. We had to lock that stuff up and could only sell it to adults. Like that's gonna stop it. Nope!

did he spray it into a bag first or just spray it on his face? because the way this is worded it sounds like he ****** up, although huffing paint is stupid in the first place but ******* it up is double stupid

I used to work in a hardware store. We had to card people buying spray paint for this very reason. :-/
