So I'm not lying. The window repairman came today (after I paid $130) and said that some spring or something in the window frame was worn out. Boston had some very strong winds the day the window fell out, which pushed it out of the frame. I was on the floor doing a puzzle of Fenway Park if you needed to know.

Why did the window fall out? If it was something you did, then yes you need to pay. If it was that it was old and fell out, they need to pay and you need to talk to someone legal to enforce them to fix the issue.
if you rent than it's your landloards responsibility to make sure your living situation is safe. He should be payin the hospital bills too!
i knocked on the window of my front door and it shattered and left a gash in my wrist that need 8 stitches. the landlord made me pay 200 for the window. the window that was in there was single pane and it wiggled in the frame so it wasnt up to standards, we could have sued but didnt bother. it was about a quarter inch away from cutting an artery.
To bad
If the window guy can verify that it was poor maintenance and/or negligence on the land lord's part then sue his ass. Don't show mercy to an a**hole that wanted to straddle you with a bill for an accident. One you had nothing to do with and what very well could've done something far worse than the already nasty injury you've received. I sympathize with what happened but the result's your own damn fault if you do nothing to change it.
you should just sue, especially if you had to get 23 stitches for faulty work.
oh man, this is amazing! sounds like something that would happen to me. sue that ******, jesus!!!!
Sue.

there is no way he can legally make you pay for that if it turns out that the accident was a result of his negligence. if he knew about the problem before and didn't fix it then you can easily sue him for the damages to your person. either way, the landlord cannot make you pay for the window unless you did something that caused the window to fall out in the first place. he is just trying to intimidate you. don't fall for his bullshit. i'm a law student. i know this stuff to be a fact.
you should demand the medical bill from your landlord instead. for renting a place with a dangerous window.
