Today, on my way to school, I was shouted at by an obnoxious businessman for sitting down on the train when a "full fare paying passenger" was standing. I would normally have given him the seat straight away, except I have a broken leg. I showed him my leg and crutches. He still made me get up. FML

That son of a bitch! You should have broken his legs to let him know how you felt!

Sounds like something that would happen before the civil rights movement. What a douche

Why did you get up? If he can run his mouth for a long time i am sure he can stand for a long time. Shouldn't be such an asshole. Hope your leg heals soon. ;)

Sorry but ydi. Learn to say "NO, I have rights just the same as you do!". How does this prick know for sure how much you're paying for that seat? Any half decent person around you could have defended you as well. If he persisted, request someone in charge and complain of harassment & discrimination

In some Australian states, the transport body had different fares for different types of people. There are usually standard, concession and student.

This guy pegged you as a weakling with no balls. You couldn't have been the only seated student on the bus. If you want respect you're going to need to man up, cupcake.

If he has enough stamina to argue over a bus seat of all things, he has enough stamina to stand a while. Should have told him to piss off. You have a broken leg, just stay seated.

what exactly is a full fare passenger? are there free public transportation passes for students or something?
