Today one of my flatmates told the rest of us to stop using the toilet after 10pm cause he's a light sleeper and the flushing noise wakes him up. After arguing about it, he gave us his 'permission' to use the toilet, but only if we don't flush until the next day. Guess who is always the first to wake up? FML

If the majority of y'all have a problem tell him his request inconveniences everyone else so either he finds a way to deal with it such as earplugs or headphones or he can find another place to live.

Kick him out. Why the hell would you stay with a roommate that disrespects even your basic needs? No roommate is better than a selfish jerkwad of a one

Punch the ****** on his face and tell him to stfu. Tell him to buy earplugs. Why are people so ******* stupid!

In all honesty, I don't see a problem with not flushing urine overnight. I picked it up as a habit when I still lived at home because it was rather loud and right next to a bedroom. Even after moving out I still don't flush at night, but now it's more to save water and money rather than noise. I have a clip-on toilet block which overpowers any urine smell. Anything more than urine should be flushed though, and the housemate should understand that. If not, they are being entirely unreasonable and should make other arrangements, whether that is earplugs, moving rooms, or moving houses. Holding in faeces can be very bad for your health, and no one should have to risk their health for the sake of someone else's sleep. I am a very light sleeper also, and I would never dream of asking someone not to poop when they need to, for the sake of my sleep.

Either get him a room further away from the toilet or kick him out or hold it in. Your call.

Why does my comment show over 300 down votes as soon as it's published?

A light sleeper sleeps with a light on. A hard sleeper sleeps with a hard-on.

You can't stop basic needs. Lol I wouldn't give in to something like that. That's just idiotic.
