Today, recent construction has created a manhole that cars slam over every single morning. This normally starts at 4 a.m. as people make their early commute on my busy street. With every car that hits it, there's a huge echoing slamming noise. FML

I would think that would do damage on the cars and they would have to find another way until it got fixed

If the people responsible for maintaining infrastructure near OP are anything like the ones where I live, even if someone complained, it wouldn't do much. They'd probably just tell them what one said to my mom and I when we asked why something hadn't been changed despite it causing four accidents in as many months. More specifically, "Insufficient mortalities to justify the alteration."

get some quick drying cement and poor it over the manhole at night when everyone is asleep. let the pricks who put it there in the first place try and find it again.

Steal the cover! Or graffiti on it; residents in my area got sick and tired of the council not fixing pot holes and found out if they spray-painted dicks on them they immediately got fixed!

When traffic dies down, fill it with potting soil and flowers. People will avoid it and it will send a message to the idiot that was to lazy to extend the manhole neck.
