Today, returning home from a party, I realised I'd forgotten my keys. My roommate was sleeping so soundly that after an hour of throwing gravel and ringing the doorbell, I had to give up and get a room at the hotel over the road. For €85 I had a view of my room. FML

Try calling his/her phone or the landline maybe. Everyone has the reflex to answer their phones nowadays.

Depending on how close to morning it was, I might have just wandered around, or tried to find a 24 hour supermarket or cafe or mcdonalds to sit in and drink coffee. I say that... I've never been in that situation before, but that is what I think I would be tempted to do.

both my roommates are the same way... usually their alarms wake me up, then I go to wake them up

You should have gone back to the party. And partied s'more. Or passed out. Either way.

FYL - that's an expensive price for a view + knowing the only reason why you're not home is because your roommate is a heavy sleeper but I have to say YDI as well because you should've checked for your keys if you knew you were going to a party while running the chance that you might come home and your roommate might be asleep, whether or not you knew he was a heavy sleeper.

Whenever I go out partying or clubbing I never take my keys. Ive lost my keys before but I just passed out on the patio until my housemate woke me up in the morning. This is why I always keep a spare house key well hidden outside my house so only I know where to find it.

Shit, my ass would have been sleeping in the car! ?

Maybe they don't have a car. Or they didn't take it to the party and had someone drop them off

Wow the illustrated photo is really sad

Why is it related to this fml? It makes no sense..

No it makes sense at first. But I got confused at the end. I thought maybe it was like nude photos from the party on the computer or something.

I don't think the illustrated photo portrays what actually happened. They added parts to the story that don't even look like they occurred. I'm not saying that I know legit what happened, but at least I know what probably didn't happen.

The artists often take liberties with their illustrations. They don't need to strictly stick to the stories, and we appreciate their humourous takes on them.

How does the second half of the illustration tie into the fml?
