Next time just put a note up saying "door locks are broken but nothing to steal, sorry bout ur luck". That'll work but they might take the car. Tho I keep my doors unlocked with the keys in it and everyone else has gotten their car broken into or stolen except mine.

I'm assuming you had nothing valuable in your car... But I could be wrong

If your car doesn't lock, then why would you keep anything of value in your car? Then maybe the thief wouldn't have seen anything he wanted, therefore eliminating the problem at hand.

It is still a useless car door even before. Why feel the pinch?

I feel like if the locks on my car quit working I would fix them that day or the next. Not years after.

Something like this happened to my sisters husband once. He left the truck door unlocked and they busted the window to get in. He was not too happy.

Next time, be sure to leave a sticky note for the thief.

Friend of mine many years ago used to own a soft-top Jeep. He used to park it on the street with the doors unlocked so that anyone who was motivated to break in could just open the door and rummage to their heart's content since there was no radio or anything else worth stealing in it. Of course, someone ignored the unlocked door and cut the top to get in.
